Mark Rosen
Inducted 2013
Combine homegrown talent, charisma, compassion, and boundless enthusiasm for sports in a hard-working, six-foot six-inch package and you’ve got Mark Rosen. Fortunately for Minnesotans, WCCO had the vision to recognize these qualities when the 17-year-old St. Louis Park teenager walked into the station in 1969. More than forty years later he is still there and still following his passion for sports.
Mark’s genuine appreciation of athletes and coaches is matched by his compassion for the average fan. In spite of working with legends like Mickey Mantle, Bud Grant, Hank Aaron, and Sandy Koufax, some of his favorite stories came from fans. He understands the value of being honest with his listeners and viewers and they’ve rewarded him by watching and listening every chance they can. Rosen Sports Sunday, Inside Basketball, The Bud Grant Show, mornings at KQRS, afternoons at KFAN, and daily broadcasts at WCCO-TV benefit from the integrity, experience, and overwhelming popularity of Mark Rosen.
When Mark is not on the air, he’s involved with Children’s Heartlink and the A.C.E.S. foundation (Athletes Committed to Educating Students).
